10. Choral, extract from Cantata BWV 147

Written by J. S. Bach and arranged by Maurice Duruflé for Organ, “Chorale: Jesus bleibet meine Freude“ (Jésus, que ma joie demeure) is the tenth movement extract of the “Rejoice Yourself, My Soul”, The Cantata BWV 147. Part of the expanded version composed for the feast of Visitation, it was added to the main Cantata in 1923.

This religious piece is quite difficult and features the use of:
