Originally for Piano solo, Daydreams no. 2 dates from 1867 and was among the first successful pieces that Sullivan wrote. The Musical Times of the day wrote of Daydreams: 'Sullivan has the rarest gift of being able to produce trifles expressed with special value and marked character'. I have found this piece very useful for my own pupils, it proves popular and a good introduction to using harmonics. It also makes a good encore after a recital. ABRSM/Trinity Grade 7 standard,
