Manuel Penella Moreno (July 31, 1880, Valencia – January 24, 1939 Cuernavaca, Mexico) was a reknowed Spanish composer. He wrote pasodobles, operetas, musical revues, zarzuelas, pasodobles and more.

By the time Plácido Domingo took on the role of Rafael in his opera El Gato Montés [The Wild Cat] in three acts, that brought some renewed interest in Penella's work indeed.
