Kaija Saariaho's Graal Théâtre Violin Concerto for Violin and Orchestra.
Graal Théâtre for violin and orchestra was commissioned jointly by the BBC for the Centenary Season of Promenade Concerts 1995 and by Matineeop de vrije Zaterdag, VARA-VPRO-NPS, Amsterdam. It was first performed on 29th August 1995 at the Royal Albert Hall, London, by Gidon Kremer and the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen.
