John Stainer [1840–1901] is known primarily as a pioneer of English musicology. As a composer he dedicated himself primarily to “Cathedral music.” His Services and Anthems from this body of music were written largely for St. Paul’s Cathedral, where he worked temporarily as an organist.Detalhes
