• Pan a shepherd-god known for playing the pan-pipes.
• Tityre was one of the shepherds in Virgil's Bucolica.
• Krishna is the Hindu god. In his youth, Krishna played the flute.
• M.de la Pejaudie is the hero of the novel La Pecheresse by Henri de Regnier.
