Karl L. King, An American Bandmaster is a wonderful and informative biography of the great Karl King. Thoroughly researched and beautifully written, this book traces King’s fascinating and rich life from his earliest years, through his nearly decade-long career as a circus musician, and his emergence on the American band scene as a beloved and prolific composer, conductor, and colorful figure. Originally published in 1975 and out of print for many years, it’s available once again through this new printing. Enjoyable reading for musicians and non-musicians. A "must" for band enthusiasts everywhere!
