At the age of 23, Carl Maria von Weber (1786-1826) was employed as a Piano teacher in the service of Prince Ludwig of Wüttemberg. He wrote six pieces for Piano duet Op.10 for the Prince's daughters Marie and Amelie. They are exquisite miniatures which already announce the verve and melodic richness of ideas typical of Weber's later compositions.
