In the manner of Raymond Queneau's book entitled Excercices de Style. 'Les Nations en Folies' is a pastiche intended musically to portray several of the recorder schools from various regions of France and abroad. The common theme is that of the famous 'Folies d'Espagne' accommodated to reflect the style of each country, or of their flautists.
