An early fragment of this song appeared in Mike Nichols’ 1967 hit film The Graduate. The following year the song was included in its finished form on Simon & Garfunkel’s album Bookends.

Despite Simon’s intention to make it a tribute to traditional American heroes, it had already become synonymous with Anne Bancroft’s married seductress of the film. Arranged by Jeremy Birchall for SATB choir with Piano accompaniment.
