Purpose: The piece serves to introduce accidentals and also to give practice in playing in 3/4 time which seems to be difficult for beginners to learn, who tend to hold the third beat for two counts. Suggestions for Instruction: I suggest that they count the note values quar-ter, quar-ter, quar-ter so that it is consistent without paying too much attention to the bar lines.
