The quality of the first volume, combined with its excellent production and the ever increasing popularity of the recorder, made this Tutor an almost immediate success, and the publishers had many requests for a second book.

The entire compass of the recorder is covered in these books, and, as in Book One, there are helpful revision exercises spaced throughout to give the teacher a better opportunity of measuring the pupil's progress.
