Descrição
The Peasant Cantata was written and performed in 1742 as an act of homage to Carl Heinrich Von Dieskau on his becoming 'Lord Of The Manor'. The libretto, supplied by Picander, deals with the rejoicing of villagers and their congratulations and good wishes to the new laird and his wife. Many folk melodies are introduced, and most of the numbers are based on merry country dance tunes.Detalhes
